Dear Friends, Family and Fans,
I believe our lives are situated somewhere within the Lord moving in mysterious ways; our lives being the composite of acts of free will; and the reality of life's precarious twists and turns…what some folks call, the luck of the draw. At the same time, I believe that God often steps into our lives in deliberate, intentional ways to order our steps to lead us in His appointed direction. Our free will actions + Stuff happens + His will being done= Our evolving life story.
He is not responsible for all that happens in our lives, but He takes responsibility for strengthening our spirit, and enriching our souls as we travel through our trials and tribulations. I could write a book called, My Life: Testimonies of God All in it!!

But today I have a testimony about Him navigating my steps in order to help me present my best self. You know some times we are the block to our blessings. I was asked to create a poem for a fabulous, meaning filled event. I sat down and in one sitting a free flowing, rhyming, rhythmic, rap-like, spirit filled assertion of Gods love and Black folks perseverance evolved. I decided it was my job to revise it. So, over several days I nipped and tucked at the poem until it was more traditional in cadence and style. The day of the event, I felt good and ready. I placed my piece into a lovely professional folder, along with my many pairs of readers, a pen, and one of my books of poetry…in case another poem was needed. I found an appropriate pocket book to fit my folder, phone, car keys, etc. and was on my way to the catering hall. Arrived in time to schmooze (mix and mingle). When my host alerted me that the show was about to begin, with me as the first speaker, I confidently went to my pocketbook to retrieve my folder…with the poem safely inside. No folder!!! No book of poetry. No pen. Not even a pair of glasses. Nada!
I was at least a half hour from home, where I must have left my folder. Whats a girl to do?

Thanks to a sister friend I was reminded to check my email to see if at some point I had sent a copy to myself. Tah dah! A version of the poem was there. Not my polished, carefully crafted, revised version, but the original one that had been sent by the Originator! The audience seemed to love the direct, poignant, rhythmic, rap like cadence. He was in charge, I had to get out of the way.

One of my favorite expressions comes from Nikki Giovannis Ego Trippin, Im so cool, even my errors are correct.
But I think I have to revise it for my life, Im so loved, God corrects my errors. Let me know if youd like me to post the poem.
Love and realness,

Loved this! "Not my will but his will be done"! Somebody was supposed to hear and receive your poem"Exactly" as the creator worked it out through you. Good Bless.😘

I thank you for sharing with us through you eloquent writings. I was a teacher of students with disabilities in Queens, NY in 1980s when you visited our school on several different occasions. You helped me to exposed my emotionally disturbed students, through your read aloud books and cassettes, how to love writing prose. Forever grateful,

Really enjoyed reading this post. God is always in control whether it’s our best day or our worst! He still worked it out for the good! Please post the poem!

I love your statement "I 'm so cool, God corrects my mistakes". He is always there to pick us up, walk behind us to be there when we stumble and there to pick us up when we fall. You must be willing to see , listen to that voice and understand what He has for us.

Thank you, Linda for sharing this experience. We are given many learning experiences to trust in the Lord. Your experience is a prime example of this. I want to create a blog of encouraging words, experiences and appreciation.
