Day 4
IN OTHER WORDS
By Dr. Lindamichellebaron
I know, I know. "Fasten my lip." Will somebody give me a paper clip?
Not strong enough! I need a safety pin... to fasten all that happens in.
I'll "button it up."
O.K. O.K.! It will never fit into one day.
But if there's a pencil I can borrow, I'll write a reminder for tomorrow.
In Other Words is one of my favorite poems from my book,"The Sun is On" available on my website at:

Hope you enjoyed Day 4. I would like to add one comment: When I was in 2nd grade, I loved my teacher, Mrs. Johnson. My mother asked her how I was doing in class and she praised my work but added that I talked a bit too much. Now, as a professor, performing author, professional developer... talking is how I make my living and also subsidize my income. But having to be more intentional and to practice discretion when using my gift of gab allows space and desire to write. Silence can be a gift to yourself... an opportunity to share more thoughtfully, and creatively. Thus the poem... In Other Words.
